Mama returns! But this time, you’ll be gardening instead of cooking. Gardening Mama plays just like Cooking Mama, for those familiar with the series. For those who aren’t, you must follow a series of steps in order to get your plants to grow. Each of these steps is a short mini game. For example you have to dig up soil using your stylus as a shovel, then drop each seed in a hole, water your plants, pick bugs off your plants to keep them from being eaten, etc. After each mini game you are graded by Mama herself. It’s a long process but it’s pretty fun.
As you progress in the game, you unlock more plants to grow as you go along. Another nice thing is that you can change Mama’s outfits and even decorate your garden with the bonus prizes you earn. This is fun when you want to take a break from gardening.
Gardening Mama is another great entry into the series. It’s genuinely fun and probaly just about the happiest game ever. The gameplay is solid, the presentation is solid, and Mama still makes me laugh to this day.
